| Mount Venus |
Mount Venus is an alternative rock band, hailing from Antwerp, Belgium. They embrace prog, post and stoner rock while creating their own realm of overwhelming walls of sound and fairy tale soundscapes.
Influences can be found in bands like Porcupine Tree, A Perfect Circle or Motorpsycho.
It was in the spring of 2007 that four musicians started jamming together: Roeland Picon Van de Wingard (vocals/bass), Sam Goedhuys (guitar/vocals), Anthony Van Breda (guitar/vocals) and Joris Van Regemortel (cymbals/drums). Jam sessions rapidly turned into mature songs, which were recorded and released as a self-titled demo album later that same year. This demo was selected as best one in the rock category on ‘the Muzikantendag’ in the Ancien Belgique in Brussels.

Mount Venus is currently finalizing the recordings of its first full-length album (due spring 2010), putting their definitive stamp on the Belgian alternative rock scene.
Mount Venus featured as support act for several national and international acts like a.o. Daturah, The Seven Mile Journey, Transit, Motek, Jenniferever and PG-Lost in concert halls and clubs around Belgium.

Mount Venus was selected by this jury to perform at the finals of the FrappantPoP rock concourse and was added to 100% Puur project (a group of Belgian government subsidised bands).
